The Montana Courier Program allows Montanans access to books and items from across the state, opening the doors of opportunity for all Montanans with access to this service, while being a more cost effective and time efficient Interlibrary Loan option for libraries.

Montana Courier Program

  • Supplies Crates:

    Uline Crates: Collapsible Milk Crates- 20 X 13 X 10”.

    • Purchase 12 Crates Per Year: $45 a piece- Total:$ 540
    • Quick Replacements:3 minimum at $46 a piece

    Label Holders:

    Policies and Procedures:

    • Labels and orders must be made in the Courier Portal
      • A crate will not be delivered without a label printed through the courier portal.
    • Cancel Order - Submit ticket
      • Statewide Projects- Sub Category: Courier
      • Cancel Order- Please include: “Order ID Number”
    • Cancel Scheduled Stop:
    • Missed Stops (More than 1 that month): Submit ticket
    • Missing Crates: If it’s just one you can contact WPL Billings Dispatch with order ID Number.

      • Multiple: Submit ticket
    • Crates: They must be fully locked open- Press until you hear it lock. They must be in good working order. If they are broken, please discard and order a replacement. Courier has right to refuse to take a broken/falling apart crate.
    • Damaged Items: Submit ticket with photo.

The Courier will be able to add more stops! If you are not currently on the Courier but would like to be or interested in joining/starting a sharing group, please take this survey: Courier/Sharing Group Survey.

Note - We won't be able to add any new libraries at the moment, but once we have the portal/labels up and running we can add libraries currently in a sharing group, then we'll work on adding those interested in joining/starting a sharing group!
